Look No Further! Here’s Where You Can Get Modern Barong Tagalog and Filipiniana Outfits Created by Filipino Designers

Every August, “Buwan ng Wika” (National Language Month) is celebrated in the Philippines. Many Filipino high school students experienced wearing a hybrid ensemble of Filipino and Spanish clothing called baro't saya as part of the celebrations. The traditional dress worn by Filipino women is called Filipiniana while its masculine equivalent is referred to as the barong Tagalog.

Aside from school events, barong Tagalog and Filipiniana clothing are traditionally used in weddings, official functions, commencement exercises, and the like.

At present, this traditional ensemble gets the lead out by featuring a modern twist, thanks to these local brands and designers.
