This PH LGU Gives 2 Day Stress Leaves to Single Employees

It’s a great thing to be single this Valentine’s Day for citizens of General Luna in Quezon, as the municipality has granted a special “stress leave” to its single employees!

Through an Executive Order (EO) signed by Mayor Matt Florido, the local government unit (LGU) is granting the municipality’s singletons a two-day paid stress leave on Feb. 15-16, aimed at “providing singles with an opportunity for self-care and rejuvenation” following the “stressful” Valentine’s Day.

Meanwhile, those opting to go to work on these dates will earn double pay, all to be personally shouldered by the mayor himself, the EO states.

(To our single employees, I feel your struggles, especially with the coming Valentine’s Day. I love you all, so we’re giving you a special privilege to enjoy this occasion.)

The EO entails a Verification Committee, which is tasked with approving or denying leave applications upon a confidential investigation to confirm the applicants’ relationship status.

Aside from this benefit for singles, Florido is also giving away P2,000 worth of GCash fund to three loving couples on Valentine’s Day, the mayor announced through a Facebook post.
