Witness the return of "Ambon, Ulan, Baha," the acclaimed ethno-pop-rock modern zarzuela by Frank G. Rivera, as it takes the stage at the Metropolitan Theater on Sept. 26-27, 2026, more than three decades after its last staging at the historic venue. Presented by Pixel Art Media Production Co. in partnership with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) and the Metropolitan Theater, this landmark revival brings a powerful and timely Filipino story back to audiences.
Set in the fictional Barrio Magubat, the musical follows young lovers Nonoy and Inday, portrayed by CJ Navato and Thea Astley, whose dreams become intertwined with promises of economic progress brought by wealthy landowner Don Calixto and his son Doctor Anton, played by Anton Juan and Rendell Sanchez. As logging operations transform the community and its forests disappear, the consequences of greed and unchecked development begin to surface.
Blending music, social commentary, and environmental themes, the production examines issues of inequality, exploitation, and ecological responsibility that remain relevant today. Performances are scheduled on Sept. 26, 2026, at 2 PM and 7 PM, and on Sept. 27, 2026, at 10 AM, 2 PM, and 6 PM. Tickets are priced at P1,500 for Reserved Seating and P1,000 for General Admission.

Dulaang UP opens its 49th Theatre Season with "Fiestas y Muertos," a bold reimagining of "Noli Me Tangere" directed by José Estrella. The production runs on Oct. 23-25, Nov. 6, 8, and 13-15, 2026, at 2 PM and 7 PM, at the IBG-KAL Theater, UP Diliman in Quezon City.
Based on the Filipino translation of José Rizal's novel by National Artist for Literature Virgilio S. Almario, the production explores the tensions between spectacle and suffering through two contrasting themes: the forced joy of public fiestas and the unsettling reality of death, decay, and oppression symbolized by the muertos. Estrella's staging reframes the events of Spanish-colonial San Diego as a ritualistic cycle in which lavish celebrations conceal poverty, corruption, and social inequality.
Rather than presenting the novel as a traditional period piece, "Fiestas y Muertos" examines how systems of power use spectacle to distract from deeper societal wounds. Through this lens, Rizal's enduring work takes on renewed urgency, inviting audiences to reflect on historical injustices that continue to resonate in contemporary society.
Presented by Dulaang Unibersidad ng Pilipinas, tickets are priced at P1,200 with free seating.

Prepare for one spectacular theatrical disaster with "The Play That Goes Wrong" at The Theatre At Solaire in Parañaque City. The Olivier Award-winning comedy brings its hilarious mix of murder mystery and slapstick mayhem to the stage, combining the absurdity of Monty Python with the intrigue of Sherlock Holmes.
It is opening night of "The Murder at Haversham Manor," but just about everything that can possibly go wrong does. An unconscious leading lady, a corpse that cannot quite play dead, and performers stumbling over the set, props, and even their lines turn an attempted murder mystery into an increasingly chaotic comedy.
Performances run for two hours and 20 minutes, including an interval, with doors opening 30 minutes before each performance. Shows are scheduled at 1:30 PM, 3 PM, 6 PM, and 8 PM on select dates, giving audiences several opportunities to watch the carefully planned production hilariously fall apart before their eyes.
