Whether you’re a nature lover, change catalyst, or simply want to help protect the planet, you can join the Earth Hour movement on March 26 at 8:30 PM. Different countries and territories across the globe are expected to unite and take positive actions to save the environment.
Aside from switching off the lights, we believe that Earth Hour may go far beyond that. Here, we’ve listed other ways you can get involved with the movement wherever you are in the world.
The World Wide Fund (WWF) for Nature organized various events across the globe, so you can give your pledges to the environment in line with Earth Hour 2022.
In the Philippines, you may jam with Townee Clara Prima as she fills the Gen. Jacinto Street of Makati with inspirational songs. This special Earth Hour event will also include virtual games where participants can score exclusive My Town Merch.
The live event will be streaming on March 26 at 7 PM via MyTown Facebook page.
Sustainability has long been an issue related to the Earth Hour movement. Because of its complexity, many of us probably have had a hard time understanding the whole idea. Education resource website Twinkl provides presentations you can use for free to introduce sustainability to children without boring them.
The Sustainability Powerpoint content features kid-friendly sustainability practices and their importance. It is also a perfect presentation for students as it tackles saving rainforests through a fun crossword activity.
Spreading the word online is an effective way to educate and encourage people. For Earth Hour 2022, you may download the visual material via this link. This can reach more people beyond your contact list to engage with the event and share more information.
The Earth Tribe aims to champion nature and biodiversity by promoting a sustainable and healthy lifestyle. Earth Tribe members and Scouts for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) joined forces to eliminate hunger, achieve responsible consumption and production, offset climate change, conserve marine wildlife, and stop deforestation to name a few.
If you have the passion to save the environment and the planet, the group is open to everyone, as young as seven years old, regardless of location.
To be recognized as an official Earth Tribe member, you need to complete at least one challenge: Nature, Tide Turners Plastic, and Scouts Go Solar. To know the latest and updated events, members who are 13 years old and above can join their Facebook group.
Moreover, the organization devised an Earth Hour 2022 action kit which includes the Scout tradition, Earth Tribe journey, and how adult leaders can encourage young people to connect with Earth Hour.
