After a two-year hiatus, the International Silent Film Festival Manila (ISFFM), Asia's only silent film festival, is back with its 17th edition, running from July 11-13, 2025, at Red Carpet Cinemas, Shangri-La Plaza. ISFFM brings together rare and restored films from Austria, Spain, Japan, Italy, and Germany—each accompanied by live performances from Filipino artists.
This year’s lineup includes "Fra Diavolo" (1925), "Gigantes y cabezudos" (1926), "Beethoven" (1927), "The Scent of Pheasant’s Eye" (1935), and short films from Germany. Attendees will also experience Japan’s unique benshi tradition, where a live narrator interprets the film onstage.

Enter a world where desire blurs with the divine in Dagitab, a compelling stage adaptation presented by Scene Change. The story follows Issey, a literature professor who finds herself embroiled in scandal after forming a complicated bond with her student, Gab. Meanwhile, her husband Jimmy, a mythology scholar, becomes obsessed with his research—leading him into a surreal affair with a deity that takes the shape of a ghost from his past. The result is a profound, haunting exploration of love, memory, and the emotional dissonance that haunts long-term relationships.
Running for approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes with an intermission, Dagitab invites the audience into a charged, poetic space where passion and intellect collide.
