Running from Dec. 25, 2025, until early January 2026, the Metro Manila Film Festival 2025 celebrates its 51st edition with eight official entries that reflect the diversity and evolving voice of Filipino filmmaking. The annual festival remains a holiday tradition, drawing audiences to cinemas nationwide to experience homegrown stories on the big screen.

This year’s lineup brings together acclaimed filmmakers, popular stars, and emerging voices through films that explore family, love, identity, history, and social realities, alongside genre-driven titles in romance, thriller, and horror. The eight competing films are “Bar Boys: After School,” “Call Me Mother,” “I’mPerfect,” “Love You So Bad,” “Manila’s Finest,” “Rekonek,” “Shake, Rattle & Roll: Evil Origins,” and “UnMarry.”

Anchored by the theme “A New Era for Philippine Cinema,” MMFF 2025 also features key festival events, including the Parade of Stars on Dec. 19 and the prestigious "Gabi ng Parangal" awards ceremony on Dec. 27.

As in previous years, the MMFF encourages audiences to support local cinema by watching Filipino films during the holiday period, reaffirming the festival’s role as a vital platform for celebrating national storytelling and creative talent.
