Step into a timeless tale of idealism and courage with the 2026 staging of Man of La Mancha at REP Eastwood Theater from June 5-28, 2026, featuring shows at 3:30 PM and 8 PM. This Tony Award-winning musical by Dale Wasserman, Mitch Leigh, and Joe Darion follows author Miguel de Cervantes, imprisoned by the Spanish Inquisition, as he transforms into the noble Don Quixote de La Mancha to defend his dreams amid a cynical world. Accompanied by loyal squire Sancho Panza, Quixote battles injustice and inspires transformation through unwavering faith in honor, justice, and beauty. Tickets start at P2,575.
Led by 2025 Gawad Buhay Best Actor winner Nonie Buencamino as Don Quixote, alongside classical singer/actress Katrine Sunga as muse Aldonza and 2010 Gawad Buhay recipient Marvin Ong as Sancho Panza, the production boasts a stellar ensemble including Mikkie Bradshaw-Volante as Antonia, Alfredo Reyes as Dr. Carrasco, and Tarek el Tayech as Governor/Innkeeper. Iconic songs like "The Impossible Dream," "Dulcinea," "I, Don Quixote," and "I’m Only Thinking of Him" will fill the theater, echoing REP's beloved past stagings in 1987 and 2005.
This revival invites audiences to rediscover dignity and self-worth through Quixote's quest, making it a perfect musical offering for dreamers. From its 1965 Broadway premiere that claimed five Tony Awards including Best Musical, Man of La Mancha continues to captivate with its message of persistence against despair. Secure seats now for opening night on June 5, 2026, at the intimate REP Eastwood Theater.
