Aaron and Shar Cabigas are the husband-and-wife-duo behind contemporary fine jewelry brand, Suki. Millennials themselves, the couple had aimed to make jewelry more accessible to young peers and purchasers. With a personal motivation that came from their difficulties in finding relatable pieces, the Cabigas duo has since established Suki.

Now known for their trendy designs (that will also last a lifetime), Suki has made a name for itself among the younger crowd of adults. Their designs range from stacked rings to gold chain anklets, and they always seem to know what is on the minds of their market.

Last week, they unveiled a new collection, one that no doubt will appeal to the growing number of women (and men!) who enjoy curating their ear piercings. From the traditional lobe to the more excitable daith or conch, each piercing showcases the personality of its wearer. Suki’s latest “Hardin” collection supports this growing affinity with a range of gold and diamond pieces that are both versatile and distinctive.

“[Hardin] is a homage to the lush and vibrant natural resources of the Philippines,” shares the Cabigas couple. In the collection, one can even spot the quirky Chesa ball back earring. Inspired by celestial wonders, the piece is dotted with 0.163-carat diamonds and is cut with sharp edges often associated with stars, galaxies, and nebulae.

Another overtly nature-inspired piece is the Marikit threaded earring. Shaped like a butterfly and named after the beauty of such a creature, it features 15 tiny diamonds against 14-carat solid gold. Other pieces follow the same pattern, with shapes and symbolism coming alive on adorable threadback earrings. The snake-shaped Valena is named after health and vigor, while the Salma earring – crafted in a shape reminiscent of the Montserra – is named after peace. There is even the modest Bini earring, created with the humble, hardworking bee in mind.

Celebrating the many joys of the country’s rural landscapes and gardens, their newest collection explores the various aspects of nature – from the fragility of flora to the mystery of the skies - with nature. To be sure, each piece is crafted with natural diamonds and solid gold; they are also made with a smooth screw-back mechanism that allows for comfort on both lobe and cartilage piercings. Suki has dubbed the entire collection as “Ginintuang Palamuti,” which directly translates to golden decorations. Each piece allows for specific customization of one’s looks and promises to be an elegant touch that’s sure to be touted by every “it” girl in town.
