Frozen Food Supplier Kee Song Working 24-Hour Shift as Chicken Export Ban Nears
Singapore-based frozen food supplier Kee Song extended its operating hours to 24 hours a day in preparation for the expected chicken supply drought by next month.
In a TikTok video on May 25, Kee Song showed its staff working nonstop to meet the heightened demand.
“We have increase[d] our production to process as much fresh chicken during this period,” it wrote.
There are barely five days left before Malaysia pauses its raw chicken export due to a shortage of supply and high prices.
In a Facebook post on the same day, Kee Song said its company has been working a 24-hour shift to meet the demand, adding that its website has been experiencing “an extremely high-volume traffic.” It advised its customers to visit its website during off-peak hours from 12 AM to 5 AM.
Singapore consumers have been snapping up stocks of raw chicken in anticipation of the Malaysian export ban on June 1.
