Survey Shows 41% of Employees in Singapore Prefer to Work From Home Than Get Bonuses

After two years of working from home, 41% of workers in Singapore preferred to continue working remotely rather than receiving a bonus, according to the 2022 Salary and Bonus Expectations survey conducted by multinational human resource consulting firm Randstad. The poll, which was conducted last Feb. 7-14 and published on March 15, surveyed 300 Singapore-based employees.

Jaya Dass, managing director of Randstad Singapore and Malaysia, believes that employees working from home can save more time and money by not commuting, while also enhancing their productivity and having more personal time.

Eighty percent of those who answered the survey said they anticipate to receive a pay raise in 2022, while 9% of them are expecting wage increase of 20% approximately.

Apart from the 13th month bonus, 50% of the respondents anticipated additional bonus this year, in which 43% of this group are looking forward to a bonus payout for about one to three months.
