If you’ve been taking note of the latest anime releases from Japan, this Shonen Jump+ series has probably landed on your radar: Spy x Family.

Following the story of a spy named Twilight, the comedy and slice-of-life anime shows how he creates a fake family (under the guise of being a psychiatrist named Loid Forger) by adopting a child named Anya and marrying a government worker named Yor to get closer to his target. Little did he know that his fake wife is a deadly assassin by night and his fake daughter is a telepath!

This amusing twist is what made the series gain a huge following among different age groups worldwide, including Singapore, which brings us to the good news: You don’t have to fly to Japan to experience their world.

Spy x Family Collaboration Café

Aniplus Café, a collaboration concept café located in Esplanade Mall, has an ongoing Spy x Family popup where you can try special menus and buy official merchandise until Aug. 20.

On the food menu, you can choose from any of the five mains — SORRY Omurice (S$18), Operation Sandwich (S$16), Yor’s Homecooked Beef Stew (S$18), Anya’s Pink Pasta (S$18), and Eden College Lunch Plate (S$22) — or just go straight to the desserts — Starlight Anya Strawberry Parfait (S$15), Anya’s Favourite Things Pancakes (S$16), Yor’s Red Velvet Lava Cake (S$15), Damian & Friends Dessert Plate (S$15), and Loid’s Matcha Brownie (S$16).

Each food purchase comes with a random postcard (total of 20 designs), while a drink purchase comes with a random coaster (eight designs).

After having your fill, you can head over to the standees and wall displays to take pictures or buy any of the available collaboration merchandise. If you spend over a certain amount on merch, you’ll get a random Lenticular Card (for every S$15 spent) or a random Luggage Tag (for every S$40 spent) while stocks last.

Ready to dig in and have fun? Reserve a table now through Aniplus Café’s website! Walk-ins are welcome, too, but priority seating goes to customers with reservations.
