ICYMI: Grab Singapore, Circle Join Hands to Launch Web3 Programmable Wallet

Grab

Ride-hailing app Grab and global financial technology company Circle have joined hands to roll out a groundbreaking Web3 initiative among Singapore-based users, Circle announced via a press release on Sept. 14.

The collaborative project has been named “Grab Web3 Wallet,” which enables users to create their own blockchain-centric wallet, earn rewards and collectibles, and use non-fungible token (NFT) vouchers.

As part of the pilot test of the innovative wallet, Grab users received SG Pitstop Pack NFT vouchers to utilise as payment at select retailers and establishments during the F1 Singapore Grand Prix held last Sept. 15-17.

Circle co-founder and CEO Jeremy Allaire said in the release that this pilot programme with Grab is designed to showcase the full potential of digital asset innovation, all within a framework of responsible and ethical practices.

According to Grab, users of the blockchain wallet can securely store, send, receive, transfer, track, and manage various digital assets and tokens, provided that these digital tokens are compatible with or supported by the Web3 Wallet.
