Free, Pay-Per-Use Lounges in Singapore Changi Airport to Relax and Chill

Website Changi Airport Lounge Photo by Website/Changi Airport

Are you travelling out of the country soon?

The destination of a trip may be the ultimate goal, but the journey itself holds significance as well. Part of the travel experience involves spending time at the airport, and airport lounges play a significant role in enhancing the overall journey. These airport lounges provide a perfect opportunity to relax and unwind while waiting to board your plane.

In most cases, basic lounges offer complimentary seating, while luxury lounges go above and beyond, providing amenities such as food and beverages. If you have a flight soon and are in search of a lounge experience at Changi Airport, check out the options below.

Free Lounges

Who doesn’t want freebies? At Changi Airport, there are complimentary amenities and areas that are perfect for those on a budget or with just a few hours of layover. Dubbed snooze lounges, these areas are ideal for taking naps or sitting while playing games on your phone or reading a book. The best part is, no matter which terminal you’re at in Changi Airport—Terminal 1, 2, 3, or 4—you can expect to find a snooze lounge for you. For more details, click here or contact Changi Airport.

Pay-Per-Use Lounges

Apart from the free-to-use areas, Changi Airport also offers pay-per-use areas that, of course, provide more benefits for the payment you make.

The Plaza Premium Lounge in Terminal 1 is perfect for foodies as it offers 24/7 food and beverages, allowing travellers to savour delicious treats while waiting for their flight. Expect to munch on classic Singaporean food such as the famous Singapore Laksa and the protein-filled Chicken Rice.

Meanwhile, the Ambassador Transit Lounge in Terminals 2 and 3 has a more spacious area, making it ideal for large groups. Both lounges also provide workstations, a gym, and shower facilities. If you want to take a deep rest, there are designated private napping areas inside the lounge with an added charge.

What’s more, the Blossom - Sats & Plaza Premium Lounge in Terminal 4 offers catering services, shower facilities, and a wellness area where you can get manicures, pedicures, and massages before your flight. There’s also a bar area where you can grab your favourite drinks like juice or wine to keep you pumped throughout your trip.

Airline-Specific Luxury Lounges

The best part about travelling is that you get to choose your preferred airline that fits your lifestyle. Most, if not all, airlines have their own luxury lounges in Changi Airport, providing customers with a more personalized travel experience like no other.

Those flying on Singapore Airlines - Star Alliance flights, for example, may avail of the all-new SilverKris Lounge provided they are KrisFlyer Elite Gold members, PPS Club members, and business and first-class ticketed passengers. As for the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge, it can be availed by KrisFlyer Gold members with Singapore Airlines economy class tickets, granting access to buffet food stations and wireless internet. Both lounges offer luxurious seating and napping areas that are tailor-made for all types of travellers.

If you’re flying Qatar Airways, consider yourself lucky as the airline also has premium lounges in Changi Airport, located at the Departure Transit Hall, near Transfer C, and on Level Three. Drawing inspiration from contemporary Arabic architectural design and Singapore’s love for horticulture and greenery, the Qatar Airways Premium Lounge features a spacious 700-square-metre area that rivals “those of any five-star hotel,” where guests can unwind, relax, and even sleep. There’s also a dining area where travellers can savour world-class gourmet cuisine, all of which are meticulously cooked to fit the palate of every guest.

Through the Years: Marina Bay Timeline

Combining historical photographs and informative interpretation, viewers can get a glimpse of how the Marina Bay looked like from the 1800s to the present and gain a deeper understanding of the rationale behind the development of Marina Bay.

Making of Marina Bay Sands

The creation of the resort is the focus of this part of the exhibit, from its initial conception and visionary design by architect Moshe Safdie to its complex construction process. It also highlights the techniques and sustainable practices that were done to bring the Marina Bay Sands to life, giving guests an understanding of the craftsmanship and creativity involved in the creation of the iconic resort.

Rise of an Architectural and Cultural Landmark

This exhibit gives a more in-depth background behind the development of the Marina Bay Sands, from its construction to its rise as a cultural and architectural landmark in Singapore.

Celebration of Singapore’s Sights and Cultural Districts

The showcase continues with a celebration of Singapore at the 56th Level of the SkyPark Observation Deck. There, visitors can see a striking LED wall that shows the iconic landmarks of the Lion City, as well as a deep dive into Singapore’s diverse and vibrant neighborhoods like Kampong Glam, Chinatown, and Joo Chiat.

Interpretative Panels

Panels of sights and cultural districts in Singapore can be seen on the Observation Decks at Levels 56 and 57. Some of the sights seen in the panels are the Gardens by the Bay, the Singapore Flyer, Esplanade, and the Marina Barrage

Leaving a Mark at SkyPark

Visitors can “leave a mark” at the Level 56 lobby by engaging with an interactive world map. There, visitors can mark their place of origin and even vote for what they think Marina Bay would look like in the future based on AI-generated concepts.

Stamp rallies first started in Japan, where these courses are organized by chain stores, railroad companies, travel agencies, or even local tourist associations. Stamp rallies are commonly found around train stations, and anyone can join in!

Stamp rallies are all the rage for journaling enthusiasts and hobbyists everywhere. Some would even make it a point to bring an empty notebook whenever they go to Japan and allot some part of their day to finding stamps.

It’s also a way to get to know another culture!
