Chinatown Chinese New Year Celebrations 2026

The Chinatown Chinese New Year Celebrations 2026 invites the community to embrace the vibrant spirit of the Year of the Horse through a dynamic showcase of culture, artistry, and tradition. From Jan. 18 to Feb. 16, the Festive Fair at People’s Park Square offers a lively marketplace from 10 AM to 10 PM, while the dazzling Street Light-Up from Jan. 30 to March 18, illuminating New Bridge Road, Eu Tong Sen Street, South Bridge Road, and Upper Cross Street from 7 PM to 12 AM, presents a visual spectacle inspired by the year’s theme, “Galloping into the Prosperous Year.”

Visitors can enjoy an array of cultural experiences, including the Chinese Paper Cutting Workshop on Jan. 24 at Kreta Ayer Square, the Official Street Light-Up & Opening Ceremony on Jan. 30, and the beloved “Voices of Spring” Chinese New Year Dialect Songwriting Grand Finale on Feb. 1. Interactive crafts continue on Feb. 8 at Kreta Ayer CC, while festive markets across Sago Street, Smith Street, Temple Street, Trengganu Street, and Pagoda Street run from Jan. 27 to Feb. 17.

Adding to the excitement are the Lion Dance Competition from Feb. 7-8, the lively Countdown Party on Feb. 16-17, and the Lantern Adoption Application from March 11-18. Don't miss out!
