Step into a world of wit, wonder, and wardrobe malfunctions with Wild Rice’s The Emperor’s New Clothes, showing from Nov. 13 to Dec. 21, 2025, at The Ngee Ann Kongsi Theatre. Directed by Pam Oei with a sharp script by Joel Tan and an original score by Julian Wong, this delightful musical offers a fresh Singaporean twist on Hans Christian Andersen’s timeless fable.
In a kingdom ruled by a self-absorbed emperor obsessed with fashion and fame, two mischievous tailors uncover a royal secret and decide to teach him a lesson. They present him with an outfit “woven out of thin air,” convincing everyone that only the smartest citizens can see it. What follows is a hilarious, heartwarming tale about truth, courage, and vanity — all brought to life with infectious energy, dazzling costumes, and Wild Rice’s signature humor.
Perfect for families and theatre lovers alike, this holiday spectacular promises laughter, music, and a message that never goes out of style. Tickets start from S$45 — don’t miss the most fashionable production of the festive season!
