To help you plan your schedule with your friends and families, here are exciting events in Singapore slated for December 2021 that will surely add cheer to your life before the end of the year.

Absent But Present

In the mood for an artsy weekend? Arts Seasons Gallery presents an exhibit by Chinese artists Yao Tze Yang and Luo Qing. Their artworks depict the COVID-19 pandemic’s impact on relationships, the “distances between people,” how it magnified isolation, and triggered losses in all aspects. It may be a lot to take in, but we promise it’s going to be worth it. You have until Dec. 30, 2021, to catch this exhibition.

Pop-Up Disney

If you haven’t caught Pop-Up Disney at Suntec Convention Centre, now’s the time to do so! This whimsical experience was based on Downtown Disney District at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, featuring seven themed experiences inspired by Mickey Mouse. Be sure to check out the “Mickey Loves Singapore” room to see the creations of a homegrown artist. Tickets go for S$25 for adults and S$20 for children.

Tiong Bahru Bakery Sourdough Workshop

Want to up your baking skills? The authority in sourdough baking is back with a workshop that will surely satiate your bread cravings. Tiong Bahru Bakery (TBB) is offering an intermediate sourdough workshop from Dec. 22-30, with tickets priced at S$288.90. You will learn how to make (including fermentation, shaping, and baking) marbled chocolate sourdough and figs and almonds ancient grains sourdough loaf courtesy of TBB’s chef Paul.

Jumptopia: Holiday Village @ Marina Bay Sands

Let your kids jump their way through 15 bouncy castles at Jumptopia at the Marina Bay Sands. Kids will also enjoy the maze, swings, obstacles, slides, and more at this fun-filled event happening until Jan. 2, 2022.

Slurping Good!

Admit it or not, we all find comfort in a warm cup of instant noodles. As an homage to our favourite sinful-yet-delicious junk food, INVADE (the people behind creative food hall Eatbox) launched Slurping Good!, dubbed as Singapore’s first-ever instant noodle-themed experience playground. Located at Tekka Place along Serangoon Road, it features 13 Instagram-worthy installations that play around our beloved instant treat. A standard ticket costs $S21 (kids aged three and below are free!), with operating hours from Mondays through Thursdays at 12 PM to 8 PM, and Fridays through Sundays from 10 AM to 8 PM.

Gallery Children Biennale

Running until December 2022, this multi-sensorial art exhibit features storytelling, workshops, and other creative activities that the young and young-at-heart are bound to enjoy. The on-site festival kicked off in September at the National Gallery, but a list of fun things to do is still in the pipeline until next year. This event is a great way to appreciate the arts and be reminded why it matters especially amid unusual times.
