Want to Add Greens to Your Tiny Space? Here’s Where to Buy Indoor Plants in Singapore

Heres Where to Buy Indoor Plants in Singapore

Despite earning the moniker “Garden City,” Singapore is facing the perennial problem of land scarcity that has made it difficult for households to have a garden or, at least, cultivate house plants in a backyard. In addition to the lack of space, living in a high-rise building sometimes means limited access to natural light, an important component if you want to grow greens.

However, these should not discourage you from sprucing up your humble abode with plants! There are indoor plants meant to withstand the challenges of living in a cramped space, while adding natural elements to your space. In this article, we’ve rounded up five plant shops in Singapore to help with your hunt!

House of Plants Singapore

Located in Punggol East, House of Plants offers low-maintenance greens like monstera and pilea. These plants are best placed beside a window but do not require too much direct sunlight. The shop is open to walk-in visitors every Friday at 3 PM to 6:30 PM, and Saturday and Sunday from 12 PM to 6 PM. But you can also browse through their website, check out the ones you fancy, and wait for the plants to be delivered. The standard shipping rate is S$10. An order worth S$150 is delivered for free. All plants are freshly picked from House of Plants’ local greenhouse at Punggol.

Far East Flora

If you are looking for the OG florist and plant shop in Singapore, it’s probably Far East Flora. Formally created in 1965, the company is as old as modern Singapore, providing their loyal clients not just carefully potted greens but decades of experience in plant cultivation. They started as a seller of eggs and plants from the back of a van in the early 1960s before formally venturing into plants and florals years later. They now have several branches across the city-state and a user-friendly e-commerce site with an extensive selection of plants and garden tools.
