Plan Your Travels Around the New 2025/2026 Thailand Public Holidays

Untitled design

Good news, travel enthusiasts! Here’s something to get your 2025 plans going.

The Thai Cabinet just declared three new holidays to boost tourism and the overall economy. Deputy Minister Phumtham Wechayachai said that the cabinet approved the ministry’s proposal for additional government holidays in June and August 2025, as well as January 2026.

The added holidays next year both fall on a Monday, Jun. 2 and Aug. 11, with the Queen’s birthday holiday on Jun. 3 and Mother’s Day on Aug. 12, creating a four-day weekend and rounding up the 2025 public holidays to 21 days total.

The extra holiday in 2026 is on Jan. 2, Friday, extending the New Year break to five days from Dec. 31 to Jan. 4.

Thailand has granted additional holidays in recent years to aid the recovery of the travel industry from the pandemic. The tourism sector in the country accounts for about 12% of gross domestic product and nearly a fifth of the country's jobs.

An official from the Ministry of Tourism stated, “The extended holidays are anticipated to bring substantial economic benefits, as increased travel and tourism activities will generate revenue for local enterprises and create job opportunities.”

These special holidays are intended to provide citizens with extended rest periods and enhance family time, which in turn boosts domestic tourism. With the additional holidays, many citizens will be encouraged to travel within the country and experience cultural and leisure activities like shopping through weekend markets or food tripping. Thailand is a great country to explore all year round, and has been named by travel platforms like Agoda as a premiere destination in Asia for their local cuisine and beaches.

InterContinental Brings 1st Standalone Branded Homes to Bangkok Asoke

Bangkok has long been a favorite for travelers — now it’s making a play for permanent residents. Imagine waking up to five-star service without leaving your own apartment. That promise lies at the heart of InterContinental Residences Bangkok Asoke, a bold new concept that is reshaping luxury residential living.

Slated for completion in 2029, this landmark development marks a global first: the inaugural standalone InterContinental-branded residence. Unlike conventional hotel-residence hybrids, these homes are purely residential while carrying the elegance, service, and prestige long associated with the InterContinental name. Residents can expect concierge services, wellness programming, and curated dining and lifestyle experiences delivered in the privacy of their own homes.

“This is a momentous signing for IHG, introducing our world-renowned InterContinental brand into both the global standalone branded residential market, and the branded residential space in Bangkok. Through it, we’re continuing to establish our business as a diversified player in the region and around the world, where we’re seeking and seizing new growth opportunities,” said Rajit Sukumaran, SVP & Managing Director, East Asia & Pacific, IHG Hotels & Resorts.

Located at the Asoke intersection on Sukhumvit Road, one of Bangkok’s most dynamic districts, the residences place homeowners steps from high-end shopping, world-class dining, and the city’s electric nightlife with direct access to both the BTS Skytrain and MRT subway. It’s a neighborhood that pulses with energy yet offers quiet pockets for those who want balance.

Residents will have access to a curated suite of amenities: dedicated concierge services, wellness facilities, co-working lounges, a swimming pool, a fully equipped fitness center, and private dining spaces. Every architectural line and interior finish has been selected to evoke understated elegance and global refinement.

The launch illustrates a broader market trend: the rise of branded residences in Asia’s luxury property segment. Increasingly, global citizens seek long-term homes that blend exclusivity with the service levels once reserved for hotels, and IHG’s move into standalone branded residential living is both timely and strategic.

For the discerning traveler seeking more than just a beachfront villa, Banyan Tree Krabi offers a curated experience that’s now MICHELIN-approved.

The MICHELIN Key system, introduced in 2024, mirrors the famed Star ratings for restaurants but applies to hotels. This year, only 21 properties across Thailand earned Two Keys, placing Banyan Tree Krabi among the country’s most distinguished destinations. The Guide’s criteria include architecture and design, service quality, character, value, and community impact, areas where Banyan Tree Krabi continues to shine.

And in September 2025, the resort’s Rainforest Spa, the region’s first luxury hydrotherapy facility, was honored with both a Thailand Tourism Outstanding Award and a Sustainability Award in the Health and Wellness category. MICHELIN described the spa as “where tropical serenity meets holistic wellness,” a fitting tribute to its immersive, rejuvenating experience.

The menu features elevated Thai classics like laab gai thod, a crispy ground chicken salad prepared tableside, and pla chuk khrueng, a revived Krabi-native recipe starring locally caught mackerel in coconut curry paste.

With 72 pool suites and villas, including a seven-bedroom Presidential Beachfront Pool Villa, Banyan Tree Krabi offers a full suite of luxury amenities: two restaurants, a beach bar, beach club, kids’ club, fitness center, meeting rooms, and the award-winning spa.

FVTURE: SEA’s Largest Hyperclub with 6,000 Capacity Redefines Party Culture

11Photo by FVTURE

For a city as vibrant as Bangkok, it makes sense for its nightlife to be ever-evolving. This December, the city is flipping the switch on a whole new era of after-dark indulgence with the launch of FVTURE, Southeast Asia’s first hyperclub — and it’s not just big but also seismic.

Located on the sixth floor of the newly minted BRAVO Mall in RCA, FVTURE is a purpose-built, 6,000-capacity venue that’s redefining what it means to party in Asia. A combination of Ibiza-level sound, Berlin-inspired visuals, and Vegas-grade scale, FVTURE aims to establish itself as an immersive playground.

The club is the first in Asia to feature the L2 & L2D L-Acoustic system, boasting over 40 subwoofers and a multi-array configuration that promises to shake you to your core in the best way possible.

As a full-blown sensory experience, the venue comes with a 500-square-meter LED wall front and center, plus another 500 sqm of modular LED panels wrapping the space. The visuals are designed to be 360° and fully immersive. Modular side stages, VIP lounges, and flexible event formats mean the club can morph to fit any vibe, from underground techno to full-scale festival energy.

The brains behind the operation are nightlife veteran Victor Wang, sustainability-focused COO Michele Wang, and music director Pablo Vas, known for his work with Down Temple and Tucan Bangkok. Their vision is clear: to make Bangkok a global nightlife destination, capable of hosting world-class events like Tomorrowland and EDC.

FVTURE is ”a statement of intent,” said Victor and Michele Wang. “Bangkok has long deserved a venue that stands alongside the global greats, and that’s exactly what we’ve built. From sound to visuals to community, we’ve designed FVTURE from the ground up to really break into new frontiers and give Asia the truly mind-blowing club it’s long deserved. The team we build is key to this — we put big importance on personality when hiring staff and only bring onboard people that are excited about FVTURE. This helps us set exactly the right [vibe] and define the special character of the whole project.”

FVTURE’s grand opening is slated for December 2025, with ticketing expected to go live in early November. Check out the venue’s official website, and follow their Instagram and Facebook for lineup drops, ticket releases, and exclusive launch events.

Most city developments promise the future, but for One Bangkok, it’s already living it.

In the heart of Thailand’s capital, One Bangkok, a mixed-use urban development, is setting a new global benchmark for what a city can be. With its bold tagline, “A City Always Ready,” this mixed-use megaproject is about building a better life. Slated to be the largest integrated development in Southeast Asia, it’s a masterclass in smart design, sustainability, and human-centric innovation.

The numbers alone are staggering: five office towers, three luxury hotels, five residential towers, and over 900 retail outlets, all stitched together by 50+ rai of green space and a two-kilometer Art Loop. But it’s the philosophy behind the project that makes it lifestyle gold.

Inspired by cities like Copenhagen and Zurich, One Bangkok is designed to be walkable, inclusive, and resilient, all while it’s equipped with earthquake-resistant foundations (with piles driven 80 meters deep), flood-prevention tanks holding 15,000 cubic meters of water, and AI-powered security systems with over one million sensors and 5,000+ CCTV cameras.

It makes no surprises when wellness is woven into every detail of this integrated district. The buildings are pursuing WELL Platinum certification, with MERV air filters, UV sanitation, and NSF-certified water systems. Touchless tech and universal design features, like tactile paving and wheelchair-friendly paths, ensure accessibility for all.

Connectivity is another win. Direct access to MRT Lumphini Station, expressways, and a free EV shuttle to BTS Ploen Chit make commuting seamless. And with a District Command Center monitoring everything from safety to energy use, One Bangkok is both smart and stylish.

Established as a place to live and thrive, whether you’re sipping coffee in a shaded plaza, browsing curated retail, or networking in Tower 4’s community hub, One Bangkok invites you to experience the city as it should be: ready for anything.
