Reimagined Dusit Thani Bangkok Set to Reopen on September 27

Revamped and restored, the iconic Dusit Thani Bangkok is set to reopen on Sept. 24. Completely rebuilt from the ground up as part of the Dusit Central Park mixed-used development, the 50-year-old luxury hotel at the heart of downtown Bangkok opens its doors with a stunning new design and distinctive aspects that set a new standard for luxury hospitality.
The Dusit Thani Group unveiled the exciting new features of the renovated hotel, highlighting the company’s commitment to blending modern trends with the timeless elegance of the original Dusit Thani Bangkok, which was the grandest building towering over the city when it first welcomed guests in 1970.
Suphajee Suthumpun, Group CEO of Dusit International, expressed the team’s efforts in staying true to their founder’s vision to showcase Thai culture and service in a way that resonates with today’s travelers, all the while keeping sustainability at the core of their design and operations.
The new hotel’s architecture pays tribute to its predecessor’s unique style but with added contemporary elements that elevate its interior and exterior looks. The structure has 39 floors and 257 guest rooms, all of which boast unobstructed views of Lumpini Park which can be enjoyed through the cantilevered window seats extending from each room sizing from 500 square meters.

Apart from the luxurious rooms, the new Dusit Thani Bangkok offers well-being experiences such as a spa, and ten restaurants and bars, including new venues that were set up in collaboration with renowned chefs and mixologists. The hotel also boasts over 5,000 square meters of meeting and event space and a grand ballroom featuring an eight-meter ceiling and a panoramic view of Lumpini Park.
The new Dusit Thani Bangkok goes beyond design in celebrating its heritage. The elegant interiors are crafted by acclaimed Asian interior design firm, André Fu Studio, who blend the original hotel’s rich heritage with contemporary Thai aesthetics by incorporating colors and tones that reflect classic Thai craftsmanship and artistry.
Furthermore, the structure features a “Heritage Floor” designed by Thai interior design firm P49 Design & Associates Co. Ltd, which highlights artworks inspired by the hotel’s legacy by local artists. On the outside, the revamped hotel kept its signature golden color, as well as the golden spire, a landmark icon that has now been upgraded into a new, three-times-larger spire within which a rooftop bar and sky lobby can be found and guests can relish the stunning city views while sipping a delicious cocktail!

Guests will also be able to see paintings and murals from the original hotel’s Benjarong Thai Restaurant, including the restaurant's main pillars, which were preserved and reinstalled in the new hotel’s main lobby.
Natapa Sriyuksiri, Managing Director – Dusit Estate and Group Creative Strategy, Dusit International mentioned the main challenge they had to overcome in designing the new hotel which was finding ways to blend its old-world charm with modern aesthetics.
“By reimagining elements from the original Dusit Thani Bangkok and focusing on exquisite craftsmanship throughout the entire design process – from architecture to décor to furnishings – we’ve woven a connection between the hotel’s past and present, creating a timeless harmony guests will experience throughout the entire new hotel,” said Natapa.
Dusit Central Park will also open other establishments in 2025 such as the luxury residences (Dusit Residences and Dusit Parkside), a high-end retail center, an office tower, and an 11,200 sq. m Roof Park.
Tradition and innovation collide in the new Dusit Thani Bangkok, promising guests a one-of-a-kind experience that provides all the familiar services this grand hotel has offered in the last five decades in a refreshing and visionary venue that marks a new era in Thai Hospitality.
