Bangkok Is the Top City for Digital Nomads Study Says

Employees nowadays prefer being able to work anywhere, whether they’re going out of town or taking an out-of-the-country getaway. CommercialSearch, a commercial real estate online marketplace, recently conducted a study to discover the top cities to visit for digital nomads.

Bangkok in Thailand claimed the top spot as it boasts a great result in all of CommercialSearch’s metrics, which include affordability, internet speed, coworking costs, entertainment, and safety.

According to the study, Bangkok fares well in affordability, with a low-season hotel room costing only about THB1,777. The city ranked fifth among the 57 cities in the study with the lowest hotel costs, while it ranked fourth for the lowest meal costs and sixth for the lowest coworking membership costs.

Bangkok also snagged fifth place among cities with the fastest internet speed at 225 megabits per second (Mbps).

Shanghai took the second spot in the study with its internet speed of 234 Mbps, a hotel cost of THB3,102 on average, and a safety index of 69.4. Third place went to Bucharest, with an internet speed of 216 Mbps, a hotel cost of around THB2,823, and a safety index of 71.8.

Moreover, Hanoi in Vietnam topped the list of cities for digital nomads seeking affordability, while Alberta in Canada was named the city with the best internet for digital nomads.
