Hallyu fanatics, here’s some great news: YG Entertainment, the company behind superstar act Blackpink, is launching a new group called BabyMonster!

After years of grueling trainings and workshops, trainees Ahyeon, Ruka, Haram, Rora, Chiquita, and Pharita will finally sign a contract and debut under YG.

“Regarding BabyMonster’s debut, we will do our best so that it can happen as soon as possible. I will make sure to accelerate the speed of [the group’s] debut project,” YG Entertainment founder Yang Hyun-suk said.

Pharita and Chiquita, both born in Thailand, are among the members who auditioned to be part of YG Entertainment in the late 2010s.

Meanwhile, Rora, Haram, and Ahyeon were born in South Korea, while members Ruka and Asa are of Japanese descent.

The seven-member act has yet to announce the release date of their first project, but they have already dropped a pre-debut single titled “Dream” to generate excitement for their upcoming album.
