What to Expect at ‘The World of Studio Ghibli's Animation Exhibition’
Fans of internationally acclaimed Japanese animation company Studio Ghibli are in for a treat as a huge exhibition will be opening its doors soon to give them a chance to step into a world full of imagination, magic, and dreams.
“The World of Studio Ghibli's Animation Exhibition Bangkok 2023” will take place from July 1-Sept. 30 at CentralWorld Live on the eighth floor of Bangkok’s premiere lifestyle shopping centre CentralWorld.
It will occupy over 1,890 square metres of space, bringing to life 10 of the most iconic scenes from Studio Ghibli’s works, such as “My Neighbor Totoro,” “Howl’s Moving Castle,” “Spirited Away,” “KiKi’s Delivery Service,” “Princess Mononoke,” “Laputa: Castle in the Sky,” “Porco Rosso,” “Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind,” “Ponyo on a Cliff by the Sea,” and “Pom Poko.”
Prepare to explore the greenery of Totoro Forest or to shop for delicious pastries at Osono’s bread shop with Kiki and Jiji (black cat) on standby.
You can also hop on the train with Kaonashi (No Face) or walk with Chihiro as she crosses the bridge going to Yubaba’s onsen (bathhouse).
What’s more, guests of this exhibition will get an exclusive chance to see the gigantic castle from “Laputa: Castle in the Sky,” which will be included for the first time.
Ticket prices depend on when you’re planning to visit and where you’ll buy your tickets: THB590 each for General Tickets via ThaiTicketMajor (from June 1-30) or THB650 for At Door Tickets (from July 1-Sept. 30). There’s also a VIP Package for THB1,290, which are limited for each show round but will allow you to fast track to the exhibitions and photo spots. You’ll also receive one program book.
