Yaowarat Road Ranks 8th in the World’s Coolest Streets in 2022

Time Out’s ”World’s Coolest Streets in 2022” revealed that Yaowarat Road, also known as the main artery of Thailand’s Chinatown, is one of the coolest neighbourhoods worldwide. Out of the 33 bustling streets that were included in the ranking, Bangkok’s Yaowarat Road placed eighth.

Time Out described Yaowarat Road as one of Bangkok’s oldest thoroughfares and called it a relevant and culturally diverse place. The global magazine also cited temples, restaurants, street foods, markets, and art galleries as reasons why Yaowarat Road nabbed the eighth spot.

Montreal's Rue Wellington took the first spot, while Melbourne’s Gertrude Street ranked second. Glasglow's Great Western Road, Taipei’s Yongkang Street, Auckland’s Karanghape Road, and more also made it to the list.

The data was based on the global magazine’s annual poll where more than 20,000 city-dwellers participated to rank streets based on food, culture, fun things to do, and community.
