Hong Kong Imposes 1-Week Ban on Korean Air Flights From Seoul

The Hong Kong government suspended passenger flights from Seoul via Korean Air following the detection of COVID-19 cases on a flight from the said airline, multiple media outlets reported on April 4.

Three passengers aboard Korean Air flight KE607 tested positive for COVID-19 upon arrival in Hong Kong on April 2. In line with the Department of Health’s Prevention and Control of Disease measures, all inbound flights via Korean Air from Seoul are suspended until April 10. An airline’s route is given a one-week suspension if at least three passengers on one flight were to test positive.

Meanwhile, as of April 4, the Centre for Health Protection was investigating 1,589 additional cases that tested positive by nucleic acid tests and 1,549 additional positive cases through rapid antigen tests in the past 24 hours.
