Property Management Staff to Receive HK$2,000 a Month in Gov’t COVID-19 Subsidy
Frontline property management workers such as cleaning and security workers will receive a monthly allowance of HK$2,000 as part of the sixth round of the government’s COVID-19 fund.
The frontline staff should be working in the premises under the Home Affairs Bureau’s (HAB) purview. These are:
- Campsites under the management of the youth uniformed groups and youth non-governmental organisations subvented by the HAB and other eligible premises
- Cemeteries managed by the Board of Management of the Chinese Permanent Cemeteries;
- Standalone religious premises
- The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts
- Facilities at the Hong Kong Sports Institute
- Site offices and ancillary facilities at the Kai Tak Sports Park under the management of Kai Tak Sports Park Limited
- Standalone office and sports facilities under the management of relevant “national sports associations”/sports organisations subvented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department
Qualified workers in these premises will receive a monthly allowance of HK$2,000 for five months, covering February to June. Around 4,000 workers are expected to benefit from this scheme, equivalent to HK$28.85 million in spending, according to a government-run news portal.
Deadline for application submission is June 30.
