HK Football Team Earns Qualifying Spot in Asian Cup After 54 Years
Hong Kong’s men's football team finally obtained a spot in the Asian Cup qualifying match for the first time since 1968. The interesting turn of events happened after the Philippines lost the game against Palestine with a score of 4-0 on Tuesday (June 14).
Hong Kong won its first two matches against Afghanistan and Cambodia which qualified the team as one of the runners-up under the Group D level.
Despite their loss against the India team with a score of 4-0, the Hong Kong team still secured their place for the Asian Cup next year.
The 18th edition of the Asian Cup organised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) will be held from June 16-July 16, 2023.
