Online Application for Visa, 'e-Visa' Arrangement to Launch Dec. 28
Electronic services for visa application and "e-Visa" arrangement will be launched on Dec. 28 by the Immigration Department (ImmD) to allow applicants to complete the visa application online, from submission of application to payment and "e-Visa" collection.
Eligible applicants may submit their applications through the ImmD’s mobile app, website, or the GovHK website. Online payments may be made once applications are approved; applicants can download the “e-Visa” immediately upon payment and print or save it as a PDF file on their mobile device.
According to a government press release on Dec. 22, the "e-Visa," including the electronic "Notification Slip for Entry Visa/Permit," "Notification Slip for Conditions of Stay," and "Foreign Domestic Helper - Notification Slip for Extension of Stay and Entry Visa," shall replace the sticker labels for entry visas and permits, extensions of stay, and more. However, sticker labels given before Dec. 28 shall remain valid.
The ImmD added that the "e-Visa" arrangement does not apply to entry visas and permits issued by Chinese diplomatic and consular missions, and the Hong Kong government's Immigration Divisions of the Mainland offices.
