Secondary Students and Residents Under 18 to Get Free Flu Jabs From Nov. 10
The Department of Health has announced that starting Nov. 10, secondary school students and residents below the age of 18 will be able to get their flu jabs ahead of the winter flu season, according to a government news report
The decision comes as the Centre for Health Protection reviewed local and overseas data and included secondary school students in the 2022-23 influenza season vaccination program to limit school outbreaks and community transmission.
From Nov. 10, children aged six months to under 12 years, including students aged less than 18, are to be offered free vaccination against the seasonal flu.
The centre said that vaccination of school students will protect the health care system in the face of the coming flu season with the influenza and COVID-19 circulating.
