Secretary for the Development Bureau Bernadette Linn announced on Thursday that three new residential plots will go up for tender between July and September this year. As part of the land sale programme, the sites will be developed into viable housing options, resulting in an estimated number of 2,000 housing units built.
The plots will be spread across the Tuen Mun neighbourhood, Hin Wo Lane in Sha Tin, and at Lai Kong Street in Kwai Chung. The Tuen Mun site is expected to provide up to 2,020 homes, whilst there will be an allocated 170 flats and 410 flats at Sha Tin and Kwai Chung, respectively.
Minimum requirements for the apartment’s parameters will remain. The minimum flat size begins at 280 square feet, a condition set by then-Secretary for Development Michael Wong Wai-lun since December of last year.
Authorities also plan to greenlight a plot on Anderson Road in Kwun Tong for commercial sale. The space is 13,000 square-metres in size, offering a new plot for retail use.
