The Lobby at The Penninsula

The Peninsula Classic Afternoon Tea is served daily in the iconic lobby of the hotel, recognised by many as one of the most sophisticated meeting venues in Hong Kong. The Lobby Strings accompanies the acclaimed high-tea experience, playing a live medley of traditional string classics to provide a backdrop for convivial chatter.

As for the menu, the peninsula’s class-A culinary team has prepared authentic Continental and Southeast Asian delights for tea pairings. Notable menu items include Coronation Chicken Puff Pastry, Green Asparagus and Cheddar Quiche, Citrus Jelly, and Vanilla Cheesecake. Other offerings can also be ordered, such as the famed Lobby Page Boy Hat – Banana Split.

The Pottinger

The Pottinger’s British colonial themed restaurant The Envoy is among Hong Kong’s most well-known destinations for a fool-proof afternoon tea experience. Located inside the boutique hotel on the historic Pottinger Street, The Envoy aims to bring a modern twist to Britain’s influences on South Asia’s culinary experiences.

Guests can choose between indoor and outdoor areas to enjoy the delicious fusion offerings. Along with the complimentary scones served with jam and cream, you will be asked to choose seven items from their a la carte afternoon tea menu, with dishes such as the Wagyu Cheeseburger, Spicy Sambal Popcorn Shrimp, Peking Duck Roll, Spiced Sesame Tuna Wonton with Seaweed Caviar, Malaysian Coconut Macaron, and Pandan Chiffon Roll.

With a focus on Hong Kong-style comfort food, the Lobby Lounge offers reinterpretations of nostalgic local dishes, and unique local specialties. Cake medleys and patisseries crafted by Pastry Chef Jerome Husson are also available throughout the day.

This Chinese New Year, the Lounge is celebrating with their ‘Joyous & Prosperous’ Afternoon Tea, featuring premium truffle and caviar delights by Plantin Kaviari.

The Upper House

Enjoy the sweeping view from The Upper House’s Salisterra, while sipping on some tea and taking in the vibrant flavours of the Mediterranean. From the Latin words ‘salis’ meaning salt, and ‘terra’ for earth, Salisterra transforms the warmth and familiarity of a neighbourhood bistro with the richness of Mediterranean cuisine and fresh ingredients in their peak form. From Jan. 1 to Mar. 19, Salisterra is collaborating with Hole Food to present a beautifully curated Afternoon Tea set.

Notable bites include Oyster Pi’boy, Typhoon Shelter crab on toast, Peanut Opera, Mandarin bavarois and almond sponge, and the Strawberry doughnut.

Palm Court, The Langham Hotel

The Palm Court’s fresh and elegant space pays tribute to its heritage, which comes from London's own Langham, by serving a bespoke carefully curated menu of handcrafted confections and savoury pastries. Experience authentic Southeast Asian cuisine and traditional western tea fare in the luxurious lobby lounge.

The a la carte menu features dishes such as the Buddha Bowl, Foie gras terrine, fig compote, toasted brioche, and the Boston lobster fried rice. Sweet treats such as the Italian tiramisu and the Baked New York cheesecake are also longstanding favourites. While the Palm Court’s a la carte menu is enough for a satisfying afternoon tea, themed afternoon teas such as “Van Gogh Starry Night” will be available for a limited time in the beginning of 2023.
