1. Maleficent the Magnificent

Produced by Voices of Children, this one-night-only Halloween performance is a fantastical production of song and dance that retells the tale of “Sleeping Beauty” with an unexpected twist. Paying homage to Tchaikovsky, “Maleficent Goes to Halloween” stars child dance performers who get their time in the spotlight showing off acrobatics, singing, and ballet as well as hip-hop skills, with professional guidance from show directors Cindy and Venus, who both have experience dancing with the London Royal Ballet Company. Compiling together a marvellous series of Halloween activities for all to enjoy, the island of Discovery Bay is being transformed into a wonderland of thrills and chills on a back-to-back schedule that will delight both residents and visitors. Hang by Tai Pak Beach to sit in on screenings as part of the Spooky Moonlit Movies roster between Oct. 27 and 31, or drop by the “Spooky Pumpkin Party” at DB Plaza to see the tricks and treats up vendors’ sleeves. Sporty spirits shouldn’t miss the festivities at DB Ice Rink on Oct. 29, where lights and music abound, and face painters are around to transform any skater.

Brave the “LOST in Halloween Escape Room” pop-up designed by LOST HK and work your brain and courage to make it out of their eerie themed mazes. Load up on Halloween goodies and handcrafted gifts from local makers and brands on Oct. 30 at the “Spooky Halloween Night Market” to end the weekend. 3. Flash of Fear

If Trypanophobia is the extreme fear of needles, then what about an obsession for inked pricks? Those looking to score a Halloween-themed tattoo to commemorate this frightfully fun holiday can head to the special flash day hosted by Olga Tatoo and Art in Causeway Bay for some spectacular picks. There will be an abundance of cool readily completed pieces to choose from, with ink-painting-esque pieces by Tatooer Alessa and whimsical linework from Novv Nov, ranging to the colourful and adorable femme fatales drawn up by C_C Tattoo, Flying Unicorn 615, Cadi Tattoo, and Lena Pooh Pooh. Host Olga will also be offering up some of her vibrant and anime-inspired works.

4. Monster Movie Night

Though pumpkin patch visits are not a tradition replicated in the city, the return of Hong Kong’s favourite outdoor cinema, The Grounds, has been met with a warm reception from those seeking an easy-access, open-air activity for all. Ringing in Halloween by adding a dash of chilling vibes to the air, The Grounds have a line-up of spooktacular films up their sleeve. Beginning with Hocus Pocus on Saturday, crowd-pleasing Frankenweenie and Beetlejuice on Sunday, with the heart-pounding adventure of Ghostbusters: Afterlife to top it all off on the day of Hallow’s eve itself. 5. Hal-Lego-ween

Welcoming you to a bricked lair of wonders, Legoland Discovery Centre has blocked out a line-up of thrilling Halloween activities to pique your inner master builder. Experience the haunts in “The Great Monster Chase,” a 4D screening of the Lego creature feature that jolts all your senses with scares followed by laughter, then go on a mini monster hunt for some missing monster rocker characters with prizes up for grabs to whoever has the mystery solved!

There are also a bunch of creative workshops, including a “Brick-or-Treat" zone where you can design your own little Lego beast, in addition to photo areas where you might have the chance to meet the mysterious Lego Skeleton Guy. 6. Eskate the Fate


If it takes more than just a well-planned jump scare to get your heart racing, why not try getting your pulse rate up with some speedy roller-skating? Sway or slide in your costumes to the tunes of on-site DJ’s Monsta Kei and Gee, who will be keeping smooth R&B and funky tunes a-running all night long. Snacks and two drinks are included with general admissions (HK$160), and skaters (HK$270) will also be able to use the skates and knee pads on lend free of charge. 7. INTERST ‘HELL’ A

Step into a red room of darkly captivating vibes from party hosts Magic Room, who will be taking over half terraced venue Cassio for a night of thumping music and ghoulish fun. Deck yourself up in the crossover theme of cosmic hellishness and get ready to dance the night away to music from Calamar crew’s Demayä alongside Leon from France, Mo-Shi, Milam, and Lydia Nadia. 8. Attack da Bloc

Hitting Halloween with the utmost of hype, Blocpartygroup is taking over Sound Department tonight with an extravaganza for the ages, full of live performances and back-to-back DJ sets that will set the weekend off to a fiery bang! The event features a stunner line-up of locally loved acts like Afroseas, Fxith x Hxpe, Xabitat, Bbvdoll, Lisa Hui, JBO Escobar, Posh Plans, Novel Friday, and JB, with wild sets with DJ Fergus, DJ DB, and MC-ed by Muvahsa. Transforming into a smouldering boudoir to evoke the glamorously sexy Moulin Rouge cabaret theatre, set to a modernised soundtrack of curated R&B and hip-hop, with absinthe-based tipples flowing all around, Frank’s is welcoming one and all to a night of raucous festivities.

Regardless if you’ve got a fear of heights, the impressive views atop Carbon HK is sure to get your heart pounding.
