1. You Spin Me Right Round

As a celebration of their corporate achievement, AIA is sponsoring the Hong Kong Observation Wheel to provide free rides starting from this weekend until the end of July. Visitors can enjoy the complimentary skyward journey by nabbing up tickets on the day-of, at the ticket office. There is no limit capping the number of free tickets for the giveaway, but availability is subject to changes based on the wheel’s capacity.

2. Fluidity and Impermanence

Hosted with the support of Per.Platform, this three-day-long production encompasses 13 original performances and group improvisations that arose from an open call, drawing in 16 local artists plus two Japanese artists in residence: Yuki Kobayashi and Towako Sano. Toying with the idea of liminality and transience in the medium of performance art, the performances feature diverse forms and frameworks that span from 30-minute lapses to the culmination of a week-long exchange between Per.Platform co-founder Florence Lam and the participating artists. 3. Ain’t No Party Like a Pride Party

In anticipation of the 11th Gay Games, Haus of Circuit is throwing a premature yet anticipated summer Pride Party. Though the event duration is shorter than a traditional circuit party because of pandemic-related operating hours, the energetic vibes and pulsing dance tunes is sure to be just as fabulous. Come decked out in your most dazzling gear, or grab a specially designed glow-in-the-dark clack fan to light up the night in all the colours of the rainbow along with your ticket, which is available for purchase here.

4. I Like Big Books and I Cannot Lie

The Hong Kong Book Fair returns for its 32nd iteration in 2022 under the umbrella theme of “History and City Literature”! Running between July 20 and 26, the book bonanza will feature a multitude of booths for you to nab up your summer reading., Enjoy exhibitions showcasing the “Tastes of Hong Kong” and “Hong Kong Architecture,” as well as author seminars where renowned international writers, and experts from other creative and socially relevant realms will share their unique experiences and advice. 5. Seize the Jeans of Production

Going carbon neutral may sound like a lofty goal, but never underestimate the tiny steps along the pathway in achieving it. Hoping to promote everyday ways of low-carbon living, ZCP Green Heroes hosts a variety of programmes that each spread awareness of climate change and pollution issues, whilst also educating individuals on reducing their carbon footprint. Under the theme of Recycling and Upcycling, their workshop this weekend features an upcycling tutorial that turns ratty old jeans into an uber cute and one-of-a-kind vintage denim bag. 6. Flow Gentle into That Good Morning

Ease into your slow Sunday with some mellow-guided yoga. Hosted at The Langham, certified instructor Ida Hui brings her specialty of gentle flow yoga to this workshop, supported by her background in the movement’s classical form and barre. 7. The Five-Year Blow

Neighbourhood gem and Ernest Hemingway tribute The Old Man is turning five this weekend, and they are doing so with a string of celebrations. Having already unveiled their collaborative menu with Honky Tonks on Wednesday, the incoming festivities will also include a black-tie party on Thursday, guest shifts from the bar’s special friends on Friday, and a thrilling Daiquiri-making competition on Sunday that you can register for through messaging the bar’s Instagram. Long-time fans can head over on Saturday to hang out with the old-Old Man team—Mandeep, David, and Natalie—who will be shaking up familiar favourites.

8. Tea Centuries

9. Flower Power

Bringing back the Summer of Love, Chaiwala is launching their Flower Power brunch series with vibrant Indian dishes that are just as thrilling visually as they are in flavour. Held every third Saturday of each month, the menu is a tapestry of Chaiwala’s crowd-pleasing signatures alongside tandoor-cooked mains that will leave you blissfully full. The brunch also includes a three-hour free flow of prosecco, wines, beers, gin, and specialty cocktails from the Chaiwala team and renowned local mixologist Jade Lau. From the Chai-spiked Maharaja Slushie to the addition of a champagne free flow, the desserts and drinks Flower Power brunch is sure to delight and refresh. 10. Don’t Mind if I Bedu

Bedu

Spicing up summer with some seasonally apt updates to their menu, Gough Street gem Bedu is adding a smattering of delectable new dips. Each meal paints a picturesque palette, with the gorgeous fuchsia Beetroot Labneh ($60) and the stunning Smoky Hummus ($65) that fills their a-la-carte and brunch menu with bright colours.
