8000 Runners to Join the HZMB Hong Kong Section Half Marathon
Thousands of runners will take part in the inaugural HZMB Hong Kong Section Half Marathon in November this year.
The event will see 8000 participants run the 21.2 kilometre route, starting at the HZMB Hong Kong Port and runs along the HSMB Hong Kong Link Road. Runners will go through the Asia World Expo and Hong Kong International Airport before returning to the start after reaching the 10.5-kilometre mark on the bridge itself.
Professional and amateur runners from Hong Kong and beyond are eligible to register for one of three categories: the Challenge Race at 7:30AM, Run 1 at 8:10AM, and Run 2 at 8:50AM.
There are two options for registration. Qualified runners can submit results from recognised races between July 28 and August 6, to get priority entry, and register between Aug 11 – 17.
Public ballot quotas will be available from Aug. 14 – 22, and results will be announced on Aug 25. Participants will be divided into challenge and open groups.
Separately, the inaugural East Asian Half Marathon Championships will also take place on the HZMB, welcoming runners from around the world.
All participants must be at least 16 years old.
