Join us for the Hong Kong Arthouse Film Festival, where we celebrate and showcase a cutting-edge selection of narrative, experimental, documentary, animated, and underground films. This year's festival will take place both in-person with showings at Emperor Cinemas Entertainment Building on July 13 and online screenings from July 6 to 20.

The Hong Kong Arthouse Film Festival was founded in 2015 with the mission of supporting filmmakers, regardless of their budget, and presenting their works to a wider audience. The festival is known for its astute selection process, which has helped to discover hidden gems that have gone on to thrive at A-list festivals, and even catch the eye of the Academy Awards.

In 2021, the festival selected and awarded 'Ala Kachuu – Take and Run', directed by Maria Brendle, which was nominated in 2022 for an Oscar in the Best Live Action Short Film category.

Supported by The Bigger Screen, an organization that aims to make film as an art form more accessible and inclusive, the Hong Kong Arthouse Film Festival is not just a place to share films, but a safe haven for filmmakers to connect, share, and learn.

When: July 6 to 20

Where: Emperor Cinemas Entertainment Building, 3-4/F, Entertainment Building, 30 Queen's Road Central, Central, Hong Kong
