Hong Kong SummerFest 2023 Returns For A Month of Fun In The Sun
July 05, 2023
The annual SummerFest is back this month to celebrate the sweltering bouts of Hong Kong sun. Join in on the festivities with 25 free ‘Fun in the Sun’ activities at the Central harbourfront from July 9 to 23.
The 30,000 square meter space will be transformed into a summer-only playground for kids, families, and other members of the public – inclusive of activities for all ages.
Highlights include ‘Sun & Sand’ in the Central Business District, the giant ‘Sunny Side Up’ installation that sees a larger-than-life egg being fried up on the sun, as well as the 12-metre ‘Great Blue Whale’ and a golden ‘Sunflower Field’.
This year, a special exhibition titled ‘One Citybus’ will follow the three-generation evolution of Hong Kong Island franchise buses, retired buses, and the current fleet.
Regular on-going programmes from July 9 to 23 will include ‘Hoops Wall x Ping Pong Fun’, the speedy ‘Little Drivers’ racing track’, and many more. These activities will be available from 3PM to 9PM on weekdays and from 1PM to 9PM on weekends.
Special events from the July 10 to 23 include the ‘HK Camping Festival’, ‘Beach Volleyball Fun Day’, ‘Hong Kong Balance Bike Carnival’, ‘Summer Creative Fair x LOCOLOCO Market’, a ‘Traditional West African Drums Workshop’, ‘Moonlight Yoga’, ‘HKFYG x HGC Summer Jam – Green Picnic x Band’, and more.
