New World Harbour Race 2023 Sign-Up Goes Live for Nov. 12 Race

The famous New World Harbour Race is back for its 2023 edition, welcoming 4,000 swimmers this year to join the century-old cross-harbour race that began in 1906.

Themed “Empower Happy Waves For All,” the race opened for registration last Aug. 30. It will run until Sept. 18 at 11:59 PM for Hong Kongers to bid their chance to beat competitors for the 1KM race from the Golden Bauhinia Square in Wan Chai to Avenue of Stars in Tsim Sha Tsui.

Successful registration to the Racing Group of the harbour race will allow Hong Kongers to enter the time trials for competition, with the fastest 100 men and women qualifying for the competitive race across the harbour.

For the Leisure Group, a draw will be held on Sept. 28 at 11 AM to determine a list of names who must participate in time trials on Oct. 8, 14, and 15, with results released on Oct. 24 at 11 AM.
