Amazon Prime Video has released the first trailer of the much-anticipated web series “Expats” starring Hollywood actress Nicole Kidman, and you can catch a glimpse of Hong Kong’s most recognisable spots!

Directed by Lulu Wang, the six-part series is based on Janice Y.K. Lee’s best-selling novel “The Expatriates” and revolves around the international community of expatriates who have settled in Hong Kong.

Some might remember spotting Kidman on the streets of Hong Kong during the COVID-19 quarantine, causing controversy among locals.

Nevertheless, many are excited to see how the movie spotlighting our very own city turned out, including us!

Some of the recognisable locations and Hong Kong trademarks shown in the trailer are Victoria Harbour, Temple Street, Ladies Market, and of course, Hong Kong’s lofty apartment buildings. The series will premiere worldwide with two episodes on Jan. 26, 2024, with new episodes releasing weekly until its finale on Feb. 23, 2024.
