Young Soy Gallery Debuts New Location, Featuring Local Artist Humchuk
Heads up, art enthusiasts! In case you missed it, one of Hong Kong’s rising art spaces, Young Soy Gallery, has moved to a new location.
Previously situated along SoHo’s Staunton Street, the newly reopened Young Soy Gallery is now located in the cool and lively neighbourhood of Sheung Wan, known for an array of artisan shops, cafes, antique stores, and historic temples.
From March 14 to 31, the gallery will also present its inaugural exhibition in the new location. Titled “Why No Hug,” the exhibition will feature the works of local artist Ricky Luk, also known as Humchuk.
Humchuk’s solo show will showcase monochromatic illustrations that show the challenges people face with “evolving identities in the midst of a chaotic time.” The exhibition is expected to bring comfort to its spectators through Humchuk’s striking artworks.
Established in 2020, Young Soy Gallery has been holding exhibitions from a diverse range of artists, coming from different backgrounds and styles. As “Hong Kong’s Gallery for the People,” the gallery prides itself in “making the world a better place” through its creative and radical exhibitions.
