Hong Kong is set to host the 2027 PUMA HYROX World Championships at AsiaWorld-Expo from June 10 to 13, 2027, marking the first time the sport's flagship event will be staged in the Asia-Pacific region.
In a full-circle moment, Hong Kong was also the destination for HYROX's APAC debut in 2022, drawing fewer than 1,000 competitors. By this past May, the city's 6th race attracted nearly 20,000 participants.
HYROX, the hybrid fitness competition, has taken the global sports world by storm. Combining running with a series of functional workout challenges, designed to test both endurance and strength, HYROX offers an all-rounded fitness challenge accessible through focused training programs. The 2025/2026 season drew 1.5 million participants across 95 cities worldwide. Projections for the upcoming season predict more than 2 million athletes.
Despite the enormous participation base, only the top 0.5 percent of competitors will qualify for the World Championships and earn their slot in the Hong Kong finals.
This 2026, the HYROX World Championships are set for Stockholm, and the event is expected to draw over a million viewers globally.

And Hong Kong cannot wait. Dr. Peter Lam, Chairman of the Hong Kong Tourism Board, said, "We look forward to welcoming elite athletes and HYROX fans from around the world to Hong Kong, where they can stay longer, explore more, and experience all that our vibrant and diverse city has to offer."
