Caffeine Fix! Where to Get Coffee Around Bukit Bintang

Where to Get Coffee in Bukit Bintang

If Bukit Bintang were a person, it'd probably be known as the life of the party. This lively, electrifying hub in Kuala Lumpur is famous as a shopping and dining destination, where shopaholics, foodies, and music heads coalesce for the activities they love, from non-stop shopping and chowing to jamming to live bands and more.

Whether it's night or day, Bukit Bintang never sleeps. This district, however, isn't just a shopping and entertainment haven. It's also brimming with hip coffee shops where you can get your caffeine fix for the day! Here are five cafés in Bukit Bintang that you should not miss!

Capitol Cafe

This café along Jalan Sultan Ismail Road is known for its signature nasi lemak (rice cooked in coconut milk) and is regarded as one of the best in Malaysia. It offers a wide array of dishes, including breakfast sets that comprise roti bakar (grilled bread or toast) and roti telur goyang (roti canai with egg filling), among others.

For its caffeinated drinks, you can get its HoGaSai (a hot blend of Milo and kopi or coffee), HoGaSai Ping (cold), Hainan kopi, and teh tarik, to name a few. The Capitol Cafe is both a gastronomic and visual experience, with beautiful marble tables, wooden chairs, and vintage mosaic tiles for a homey and casual ambience. It is open every day from 7 AM to 4:30 PM.

Location: Capitol Cafe, 46, Jalan Sultan Ismail, Bukit Bintang

KITA Coffee

If you want a café that feels like a community space, KITA Coffee at Fahrenheit 88 is your best bet! This coffee shop is located inside a shopping centre, but you need not worry about it being too loud or chaotic. With white interiors and green plants that decorate and freshen up the space, KITA Coffee lives up to its name as a café we can call "ours." Those on vegetarian or plant-based diets will love it too, as it is proudly meatless! It's known for its home-baked roll cakes and whole cakes in flavours like fresh fruits, matcha, sea salt dark chocolate, tofu cheesecake, tiramisu, and more.

For your caffeine fix, check out its specialty classic coffees such as hand-brewed, Americano, cappuccino, and piccolo, to name a few. It also has signature coffees and dirty coffees, which comprise hot espresso and freezing cold milk. It also offers tea and soda for those who don't like coffee. KITA Coffee is closed on Tuesdays and serves patrons from 10:30 AM to 6:30 PM.

Location: KITA Coffee, Fahrenheit88, D7, Bukit Bintang

Optimist Coffee

Optimist Coffee has two locations, namely in Ampang Park and Bukit Bintang, as well as in Jalan Dungun. Through "a soul-comforting" concept, Optimist Coffee has been spreading good vibes through good coffee since 2014.

If you need a pick me up, this café is the place to be, with its refreshing and comforting drinks such as the hazelnut latte, vanilla latte, flat white, gula melaka latte, iced salted caramel latte, oat matcha latte, cold brew, season kombucha, and orange cold brew tonic, among many others. Pair your coffee with Optimist's mouthwatering donuts, too, which come in flavours like white chocolate with coconut, lemon glazed, dark chocolate with almonds, matcha glazed with Biscoff, and maple walnut, to name a few.

Location: Optimist Coffee, SE1 Side Entrance Facing Jalan Bukit Bintang Lot 10, Shopping Centre, 50, Jalan Sultan Ismail

WU DI Cafe

This café along Jalan Galloway Road is known for serving Balinese-Italian fusion cuisine. WU DI had its grand opening in early 2022 and has gone on to embed itself in Kuala Lumpur's dining scene as one of the best places to go for good food and good coffee. It serves classic coffees hot and cold, such as double espresso, long black, flat white latte, espresso macchiato, piccolo latte, and mocha that cost between RM11 to RM18.

You can pair its coffee with its all-day breakfasts, such as grilled cheese sandwiches and sourdough sandwiches. For something healthy, opt for its yogurt bowl or salads. WU DI is closed every Tuesday.

Location: WU DI, 10, Jalan Galloway, Bukit Bintang

Three Years Old Cafe

Three Years Old Cafe is one of the dreamiest places you can break your fast. Located in a stark white establishment with big windows to let the natural light in, this spot is a minimalist and clean well-lit place that's conducive for slow mornings. Try its signature coffees, such as the espresso, cappuccino, long black, and piccolo and iced offerings such as the iced mocha and iced tiramisu latte.

Its breakfast dishes include sourdough toast, granola, smashed avocado toast, and plain croissant, among others. For non-coffee drinks, you're bound to love its matcha latte, hojicha latte, and hot and iced chocolate! Three Years Old Cafe is open daily except Wednesdays from 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM.
