Coldplay to Play in Kuala Lumpur as Part of 'Music of the Spheres’ Tour
Coldplay officially confirmed they will be in Kuala Lumpur to close out 2023 for a November concert. The band, as well as Live Nation Asia, announced yesterday that the Malaysian capital is one of their few stops in the Asian leg of their “Music of the Spheres” world tour.
They will perform at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium, and even with more than 80,000 seats available, expect the tickets to fly off the shelves. That’s because this is Coldplay’s first-ever live performance in the country, and this tour marks their first return in Asia since 2017.
General tickets sale will officially start on May 17 at 10 AM at the Live Nation Malaysia website. CIMB cardholders, however, get an opportunity to snag early-bird tickets at a presale event the day before, May 16, from 10 AM until 11:59 PM. As of time of writing, there are still no details on ticket price tiers.
No information is available yet on the concert’s support acts. But, for their concert dates in the United Kingdom and Europe, they are accompanied by several bands, including CHVRCHES and Griff.
Buried under the hype of Coldplay’s legendary concert sets is the band’s pledge for sustainability, revealed last year upon opening their world tour in Costa Rica. Here are the band’s mission goals that accompany them around the world, as quoted from their website:
REDUCE - Reduce our consumption, recycle extensively and cut our CO2 emissions by 50%.
REINVENT - Support new green technologies and develop new sustainable, super-low carbon touring methods.
RESTORE - Make the tour as environmentally beneficial as possible by funding a portfolio of nature- and technology-based projects and by drawing down significantly more CO2 than the tour produces.
