Don’t Miss Out: Visit the Lat House Gallery for Free Until Early September

At the Lat House Gallery, visitors can experience the art of Datuk Mohd Nor Khalid, better known as Lat. As an award-winning and internationally recognised Malaysian cartoonist, Lat was recently honoured as Seniman Diraja, or Royal Artist, by the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah.

Since its opening on July 9, the Lat House Gallery has attracted thousands of visitors, including many children and locals eager to explore the works of this celebrated artist. The gallery features a comprehensive collection of Lat's works and achievements, as well as a replica of the house where he grew up with his parents and siblings. Free admission not only brings Lat's art closer to the public but also allows visitors to appreciate the Rumah Bumbung Lima, the beautiful traditional house that serves as the gallery's home.

While the Perak State Museum Board has yet to announce ticket prices once the free admission period ends, Lat hopes that they will remain affordable, enabling more families and individuals to enjoy the gallery. In addition to showcasing Lat's art, the gallery will also host future drawing workshops, seminars with other famous cartoonists from Malaysia, and a "Lat and Friends" programme.

After exploring the gallery, visitors can browse for souvenirs such as T-shirts, key chains, and mugs featuring scenes and characters from Lat's works. Don't miss this opportunity to visit the Lat House Gallery with your family and friends. The gallery is open from 10 AM to 4 PM from Sunday to Tuesday.
