Macau's Newest M8 Mall Scheduled for Soft Opening in September

Macau is set to welcome another shopping haven, as the most-awaited M8 Mall is officially making its soft opening this September, its operator, China State Construction Engineering (CSCE-Macau), told the media on July 29.
Located along the Travessa do Roquete, just 50 meters away from Senado Square, the soon-to-open M8 Mall will feature a nine-story complex with a variety of dining, retail, and leisure establishments.
One of the major occupants of the mall will be luxury retailer DFS, whose space will span three floors filled with fashion and beauty brands and food and gift shops, among others.
The mall will also bring three popular restaurant chains from Asia to Macau, namely Thailand’s Mango Tree, South Korea’s Terrace in Seaside, and Hong Kong’s Modern Shanghai Imperial.
Visitors can also look forward to the architectural marvels of the mall, which include an open-plan hall, a central escalator hall that connects to various retail spaces, restaurants, and event venues, and a rooftop garden that provides a magnificent view of the cityscapes.
M8 Mall’s site was previously used as a dormitory for Macau Post Office employees. Prior to its opening, the mall had already won the Guinness World Record title for the "largest curved stone-laminated glass facade,” among other accolades.
The project is developed by the CSCE and Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau, with The Oval Partnership as their architectural consultant.
