“We began Penny Pairs in 2018 because we found that traditional jewelry stores were intimidating, covered in glass, with prices that were only ‘available upon request’,” shared founder and CEO Camille Sandico-Jimenez. “Meanwhile, fast fashion outlets were offering jewelry of questionable quality, made with cheap metals that would break easily and cause allergic reactions. We wanted an alternative.”
Enter Penny Pairs, a “worry-free jewelry experience” that has innovated itself and currently boasts a handful of brick-and-mortar locations. Now open in Glorietta, Uptown BGC, UP Town Center, and Eastwood, it has recently announced the launch of its fifth – but definitely not its final – branch, this time in Quezon City’s SM North Edsa.
The new store marks a milestone for both Camille and her co-founder, Theo Sandico, as it is the first that veers away from the typical pop-up booth format; instead, the SM North Edsa branch translates Penny Pairs into a permanent retail space. Featuring floor-to-ceiling displays of gorgeous jewelry – made with sparkly zirconias and freshwater pearls – the new store is as bright and eye-catching as you imagine it to be.
“We’re so grateful for the support of our Quezon City community,” shared Camille. “So many members of our team live nearby, so it means so much to us that our first in-line store is right at home.”
Prices for all the offerings are visibly on display – transparency is, after all, among the many values that the brand holds, making it an accessible and approachable alternative for shoppers. Penny Pairs is also proud to say that each customer can expect personalized service from the store’s helpful associates. Those who drop by are encouraged to feel, visualize, and even try on the pieces available in order to ensure the right purchase.
