Gov't Launches Digital Travel Magazine to Boost PH Tourism

The Department of Tourism (DOT) launched "7641 Islands of the Philippines," a digital magazine that provides travel inspiration and information, in a bid to boost Philippine tourism and fast track tourism recovery.

The digital magazine, the name of which is inspired by the number of islands in the Philippines, highlights the tourism circuits the DOT's regional offices have developed, which include the Bike Trails of Bicol and Central Visayas, Camiguin and Misamis Oriental's Green Adventure Loop, Boracay Food Crawl, and Soccsksargen's Farm Tours, among many others.

It will also feature lesser-known destinations that are just as beautiful as the Philippines' most popular tourist destinations, such as Marinduque's white sand beaches and the pink sand beaches of Zamboanga City.

"In 7641, we go in-depth into the stories of a destination, a cultural tradition, a dish, a personal affiliation to a place, while also providing the basic information you need as a traveler,” said Tourism Secretary Berna Romulo-Puyat in a statement on March 25.

“We want to promote all tourist destinations in the archipelago that have already reopened to visitors. Each month, we will highlight different places so that the public can discover the marvelous sites that our 7,641 islands can offer.”
