PAWSsion Project to Hold Week-Long Event for International Homeless Animals Day 2022
Animal welfare organization PAWSsion Project announced on social media yesterday, Aug. 2, that they’ll be holding a week-long event to commemorate International Homeless Animals Day (IHAD). Now on its fourth year, this will be the organization’s biggest animal welfare event yet.
International Homeless Animals Day, which takes place every year on the third Saturday of August, aims to raise awareness about homeless and abandoned animals and to bring the public’s attention to issues involving pet overpopulation.
With the theme “Stray No More: On the Way Home,” the event will kick off on Aug. 14 at Market! Market! and BHS Centrale Amphitheater. For the succeeding days, there will be an opening night for an art exhibit for a cause at Bonifacio High Street (Aug. 15), a free spay and neuter drive in partnership with Angkop.org and Market! Market! (Aug. 17), an animal welfare conference at Digital Library at Clock In BGC (Aug. 18), and a benefit concert at Bonifacio High Street, 5th Avenue (Aug. 20).
“Our ultimate goal is to raise awareness on the harsh realities of homeless and abandoned animals. Our biggest wish is for people to finally wake up and put compassion into action,” PAWSsion Project said in a Facebook post.
“[W]e believe that every stray animal deserves a place they can call their own... may it be with a family or with a kinder community that accepts them no matter what.”
