One of the country’s biggest pitfalls is its imperial Manila mentality. While most people focus on further developing a congested capital, a handful of entrepreneurs have taken the opportunity to provide other metros with equally exciting developments. Among these is AppleOne President and CEO Ray Go Manigsaca.
In a bid to further the economic and tourism growth in key islands outside of Luzon, Cebu-based property development company AppleOne has taken the reins on building some of the country’s most well-known international properties. Among these are the Sheraton Cebu Mactan Resort, the Fairfield by Marriott Cebu property, and the recently begun project for Bohol’s JW Marriott Panglao Island Resort and Residences.
Today, AppleOne is furthering their commitment to the Visayas-Mindanao (VisMin) region with the announcement of the Radisson Blu Hotel and Residences in Cagayan de Oro.
“We intend to replicate in CDO what we have successfully started in Cebu and in all other areas where we operate — which is to contribute to the local economy and further boost the region’s tourism sector,” affirmed Ray. “We will be able to do this while we remain truthful to our commitment to elevate the living standards in the areas where we operate. This time, in CDO, and it is our pride to be the one to open the first 5-star hotel and residences in the city.”
With plans to erect such an edifice in CDO’s uptown area, Radisson Blue Hotel and Residences aims to cater to guests and tenants with over 700 keys. Versatile in its development, both the hotel and residences will be co-located within the same property. This will be the first 5-star property of its kind in the growing metropolis.
And while the collaboration between Radisson Hotel Group and AppleOne is nascent — this being their first — there are already talks of more plans and more developments.
“Our values align as we share a mutual vision for elevating hospitality standards in the country,” added Ray. “This further shows our dedication to establishing lasting partnerships, and enhancing VisMin regions’ appeal for tourists and stakeholder investors.”
