American Post-Rock band, This Will Destroy You (TWDY), is coming to Singapore this April!
Presented by Asymmetry, the band is set to rock the house down with a special milestone show to celebrate their 20th anniversary — a decade after their last visit to the city-state. Jeremy Galindo, Johnnie McBryde, Nicholas Huft, and Ethan Billips will perform the entirety of their “S/T” album alongside some of their classic hits on Apr. 18 (7 PM) at Phil Studio.
Tickets go on sale on Feb. 6 at noon (local time) via Eventbrite and are priced at S$75 (Limited Early Bird), S$80 (Advance), and S$90 (Doors). As if the show itself isn’t exciting enough, local instrumental experimental band, 7nightsatsea, will be opening for the post-rock veterans.
Formed in 2004 in San Marcos, Texas, TWDY is a post-rock band known for their atmospheric instrumental pieces. The original lineup consisted of guitarists Jeremy Galindo and Christopher Royal King, bassist Raymond Brown, and drummer Andrew Miller.
The band has released a series of acclaimed albums including "Young Mountain" (2006), "S/T" (2008), and "Another Language" (2014), which entered the Billboard Heatseekers Album Chart at number seven. Their songs have also been featured in various Hollywood film soundtracks such as “Moneyball” (2011), “World War Z” (2013), and “Earth to Echo” (2014). Symmetry Entertainment brought the band to Singapore in 2013 where they played two sold-out shows at Home Club. They returned a couple of years later for another show at Zouk.
In August 2024, the band announced a change in their lineup on social media. Jeremy and Christopher decided to pursue their own creative endeavors but will continue to tour with the band with two distinct lineups under the same name. The forthcoming April show will feature Galindo's lineup.
