Jessica first captivated the world with her unique voice and stunning stage presence in 2007 when she debuted as a member of the K-pop girl group, Girl’s Generation. With her serious personality and beauty, fans have endearingly dubbed her as the “Ice Princess.”
Through the years, Jessica’s career expanded to various fields including acting, fashion designing, and writing. She set up her fashion brand, Blanc & Éclair, in 2014, and made her acting debut in the 2015 Chinese romcom, “I Love That Crazy Little Thing.” Jessica also wrote a novel, “Shine,” which was published by Simon & Schuster in 2020. The young adult romance has been critiqued as an autobiography in disguise, as the star admitted it was based on some of her experiences in the Korean music industry. A sequel, “Bright,” was published in 2022.
Her music career continued to flourish even after the disbandment of her group, having released several singles and EPs such as “With Love, J” and “Call Me Before You Sleep.” Last November, she released her fourth mini album, “Beep Beep,” with two self-written tracks.
