Get Your Hearts Pumping at the 2nd Bangkok Horror Film Festival This March

2260224 bkk horror film festPhoto by Dax Ward/Website

Halloween in Thailand is coming early.

Get your screams and hearts ready for another edition of the Bangkok Horror Film Festival, happening from Mar. 13 to 15, 2026 (yes, including Friday the 13th)!

Following a successful debut last year, the festival returns —  this time set inside the New World Department Store, an abandoned mall in Banglamphu, where the mall’s concrete skeleton, dark corners, and eerily quiet atmosphere set the tone for the entire experience. The venue’s creepy atmosphere is sure to turn every screening (and every stomach) into an immersive experience, fueled by an unsettling feeling and one that is undeniably unforgettable.

Organized by the Ministry of Culture and the Thailand Creative Culture Agency (THACCA), the free-entry event promises another year of art and adrenaline — celebrating the horror genre through film screenings, community gatherings, and fear.

Apart from the film screenings, the Bangkok Horror Film Festival 2026 will also be hosting a short-film competition, where emerging talents in the horror genre will be spotlighted. The film festival is currently accepting submissions of horror short films, with a winning prize pool amounting to THB200,000 up for grabs.

Whether you’re a cinephile, a horror movie fan, or just a thrill-seeker, this event will truly be one for the books.

For more information and updates, follow the Thailand Creative Culture Agency (THACCA) on FacebookX (Formerly Twitter), and Instagram for more information and future events!

It’s getting hot in Bangkok again!

The extra hot and fun Chilli Fest is making its return to the Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok this Mar. 28, 2026. The annual, fiery hot festival is set to once again bring together top chefs and restaurants from across Bangkok and Thailand to serve up some exclusive chilli-inspired dishes!

Now in its fourth year, the Chilli Fest promises an event hotter than the last — with 16 of Thailand ’s MICHELIN-recognized restaurants and chefs offering a taste of some of their spiciest dishes up for tasting, high-energy performances and sets, and even a hot tattoo from Inspiration Ink Tattoo Bangkok.

Get a taste of some of Thailand’s hottest and spiciest dishes that are sure to burn your tongue. For example, Chit Chaat’s Chef Narayan Bahadur Panthi will be serving street food with bold, chilli-forward flavors, MICHELIN-recognized Delia’s Chef duo Gabriela Espinosa and Diego Zarco is bringing bold Mexican flavors with Taco de Carne Asada and Aguachile Negro, and Dongang’s The Don of All Curry is representing Southern Thai heat with Hatyai Hitman Fried Chicken, and a fiery stir-fried minced beef “Kuakling Kluk Klik.”

Other returning restaurants and newcomers will be joining in the fun for a spicy food festival made for the brave and the true heat seekers.

The highlight of the festival will always be the Chilli Eating Contest, where the bravest and the slightly unhinged will prove their pain tolerance and their love for the spice!

Contestants will have to power through a scorching hot line-up of chilli peppers, with the spice level going up to 2,200,00 Scoville heat units! The last one standing (and sweating) will be crowned the ultimate winner — walking away with THB10,000 — while the second and third placers will win a one-night stay at Kimpton Maa-Lai plus dining credits!

Register for the Chilli Eating Contest here.

The Chilli Market will also be there for chilli lovers to take some of the heat home with an exclusive line-up of products from Firepower Hot Sauces, That Daeng Sauce, Mot Daeng Hot Sauce by Mae Kay, and Siamaya Chocolate.

Beyond the heat and partying, Chilli Fest 2026 will be donating a part of the festival’s proceeds to support the Bangkok Community Help Foundation and its ongoing work for communities in need.

Don’t miss out on all the spicy fun and join in the party at Chilli Fest 2026! Early bird tickets are available at THB250 via Megatix, with a complimentary drink! Door tickets are priced at THB350.
